With the new changes to Facebook, it *may* actually be worthwhile for some groups to have both a Page and a Group on Facebook. The Groups have become very intimate. Groups work well for smaller groups of people who are trying to communicate with each other on a peer-to-peer level. Pages work well for broadcast from a main source, where followers simply view or react without much communication. One thing about Groups is that the Events tab has disappeared. Pages still have it. If your group wants to have a listing of all Group events in one place, then you will either have to create a “Doc” to list them, with links to each, or else create a “Page” and put the events onto the Event tab there. This is my main beef about the new Groups format.
